Komšić requests constitutionality review of law on NGOs in RS

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić has submitted a request to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for a review of the constitutionality of the Law on the Special Register and Publicity of Work of Non-profit Organizations of RS.

With this law, the authorities of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity RS are placing the work of non-governmental organizations under full political control, using the model of the same law from the Russian Federation.

The consequence of this law is, to a large extent, the abolition of non-governmental organizations in RS.

Member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić believes that the work of non-governmental organizations and civil society as a whole is an expression of democratic principles that must be ensured in the state and society.
