Komšić in Bužim tomorrow: Marking the heroic struggle of the 505th Knight Brigade and legendary General Izet Nanić

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić will be in Bužim, where he will attend the marking of the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the 505th Knight Mountain Brigade.

Programme:

19.00 - Arrival of the BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić at the Centre for Culture, Sports and Information in Bužim;

19.15 - Laying of flowers at the turbe of General Izet Nanić and fallen soldiers-martyrs of the 505th Knight Mountain Brigade;

20.00 - Visit to the Museum-Room of the 505th Knight Mountain Brigade;

20.30 - Final ceremony on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the 505th Knight Mountain Brigade (Alija Izetbegović Square).

The 505th Knight Mountain Brigade, formed at the height of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, left an indelible mark in the defence of the western part of the country, especially in the Bužim area. The brigade was led by the legendary General Izet Nanić, whose heroism became a symbol of resistance to aggression.

The anniversary of the formation of this brigade serves as a reminder of the courage and sacrifice of the fighters who gave their lives for the freedom of the homeland. This event brings together surviving veterans, families of martyrs and fallen soldiers, and high state officials to pay tribute to those who fought for the freedom and independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
