Komšić alone welcomed guests at the reception for March 1st

On the occasion of March 1st, Independence Day of BiH, a reception was held in the BiH Presidency building, and guests from the political and diplomatic corps were welcomed only by Željko Komšić, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency. Namely, Bakir Izetbegović, a member of the BiH Presidency, could not attend this ceremony due to health reasons.

The official announcer at this ceremony conveyed Izetbegović's congratulations on Independence Day.

As every year, Nebojša Radmanović did not appear, given that Independence Day is not celebrated as a holiday in the smaller BiH entity. Religious leaders of religious communities were also among those present at the reception.

During his address to those present, Komšić stated that March 1st is an important date and expressed hope that it will soon be celebrated throughout the entire territory of BiH.

- 2014 is an election year, and I hope that the winners will lead BiH into better times. Thank you for coming because we have reasons to celebrate this day - said Komšić.

Interestingly, the BiH anthem was played at this reception by a string quartet from Banja Luka.
