Komšić with Dunović: The City of Sarajevo cannot wait, a source of funding must be found

Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić received today the Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milan Dunović. One of the topics of discussion was resolving the newly emerged problem of financing the City of Sarajevo, following the adoption of the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Allocation of Public Revenues in the FBiH, reports the Patria news agency.

-Unlike all municipalities and cities in the country, only the City of Sarajevo is not financed from the single account of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is total absurdity and neglect by both the state and the Federation of BiH, Komšić emphasized.

According to Komšić, a permanent solution lies in financing the City of Sarajevo from the FBiH Budget, like all other cities in the FBiH, because the City is defined as a unit of local self-government under both the Constitution of the FBiH and the Constitution of the Sarajevo Canton.

-No one's goal is for the capital of the state and the FBiH to collapse. You are in a situation where the City cannot wait, emphasized FBiH Vice President Dunović, and announced the organization of a meeting with the federal prime minister and the relevant ministry on this topic, with the aim of systemic financing of the Capital City.

The Vice President of the FBiH expressed readiness to urge the Federation Government to formally adopt as soon as possible an act on the transfer of the right to use and manage the Vijecnica to the City of Sarajevo until the issue of the status of this national monument is resolved.

Given Dunović's interest in the project of building the Kazani memorial, Mayor Komšić informed him that the City will prepare and forward information in the near future on the phase of the project and the further procedure, the City Administration announced.
