Komšić: They told me I was crazy!

SDP BiH will never again be what it was. SDP BiH is a party that is unstoppably moving to the political margin.

The election result achieved in 2010 was historic. Everyone, and especially the voters, expected that the sun would finally shine properly in this country. But, unfortunately, the party that Zlatko Lagumdžija turned into a one-man show during his 17 years in power, surrounded by a few clones who blindly obeyed the leader, only dragged social democracy and this country into an abyss.

The erosion of SDP began back at the 2002 Congress when the late Nijaz Duraković, who was a true social democrat, a patriot, and a lover of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, prophetically predicted what is happening today. The worst-case scenario began to materialize even then.

After him, Ivo Komšić, Miro Lazović, Nermin Pećanac... left the party, the group slowly but surely dwindled.

During that time, Lagumdžija played the role of a great leader, and with his megalomaniacal greed, narcissism, and sick egoism, he increasingly trampled on the noble idea of social democracy.

He showed his desire to stay in power at all costs when he blocked the election of the BiH Council of Ministers for a full 16 months due to his enthronement as head of diplomacy.

Then came his relationship with the then coalition partners, SDA and SBB, whom he held in a "death grip" as long as he needed them.

The electoral debacle that SDP experienced in October this year only showed that the voters/citizens are disappointed with the party's policy, which was set by Lagumdžija and his gatekeepers.

Although Nermin Nikšić was elected president of SDP at an extraordinary Congress, through the eye of a needle, until the regular congress, no significant changes occurred in the selection of people for party bodies. 

Things continue to go downhill and are gaining more and more speed. The decision of Dževad Bećirević, a "capital" and a man who, as the mayor of the Sarajevo Centar Municipality, showed that one can be an SDP member who works for the benefit of all citizens, not just Lagumdžija's, caused a tectonic shift in the already shaken foundations of the party.

His move to the Democratic Front will cause (and has already started) a domino effect. Everything that is valuable and wishes well for this country will leave SDP in the coming months.

When Lagumdžija triumphantly announced during his last presidential days that by merging Lazović's USD, he would begin the unification of the left in BiH, he expected Željko Komšić to also simply join his DF to the SDP, i.e., to "suffocate" in the party from which he left angrily after a heated argument at one of the Presidency sessions.

The professor's calculation, as well as that of his satellites, proved to be incorrect.

The process of unifying the left is taking place, but according to Komšić's recipe. SDP is merging into DF. And it will continue until the party that Lagumdžija destroyed becomes what Stranka za BiH is today.

And who is crazy now? And who is normal?
