Komšić calls for election posters not to be placed on unintended locations

Ahead of the start of the election campaign, Sarajevo Mayor Ivo Komšić calls on all political parties, coalitions and independent candidates not to place election propaganda materials in places in the city that are not designated for this purpose, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- By sticking election posters, i.e. political advertising in unauthorized places, the appearance of the city is damaged, and great material damage is also caused, given that significant budget funds need to be allocated for their removal - states the announcement from the City Administration.

Mayor Komšić also appeals to cantonal and municipal inspection services, municipal wardens to coordinate with police departments to intensify their activities and capacities before and during the election campaign with the aim of maintaining public order and cleanliness, as well as public peace and order in the area of the city of Sarajevo.

- We are all responsible for a clean and tidy city. That is why we should all show joint engagement and solidarity in improving the ambiance and atmosphere in the city so that Sarajevo lives in an orderly and safe environment during, but also after the election campaign - Komšić emphasized, and also called on all other institutions and public establishments to contribute within their respective domains of competence.
