Komšić: Those who swear by BiH must know that Christmas and New Year are part of citizens' identity

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić commented today on the occurrences expressing displeasure regarding the congratulation of Christmas and New Year holidays, which the public in Bužim and Zenica has witnessed.

“I consider it shameful, what happened in Bužim and Zenica, and that the only thing more shameful is defending such actions! From those who swear by Bosnia and Herzegovina, I still expect them to know what Bosnia and Herzegovina is and how much some things are worth and important to people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including holidays that are part of the identity of the people but also of a good part of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As much as Dodik's and Čović's policies are dangerous for Bosnia and Herzegovina, these phenomena that destroy togetherness and our common Bosnian-Herzegovinian identity are equally dangerous.”

Komšić points out that it is clear that not all people can think the same, but still, the reaction of the majority of citizens who do not approve of someone being bothered by a holiday greeting is encouraging, and this shows that the idea of Bosnia and Herzegovina is stronger than that.
