Komšić paid tribute to victims and visited the French Ambassador to BiH

The Mayor of Sarajevo, Ivo Komšić, today lit a candle and laid flowers in front of the French Embassy in BiH, paying tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack in Paris. In a conversation with the Ambassador of the Republic of France, Claire Bodonyi, at her residence in Sarajevo, Mayor Komšić, together with his associates, expressed sincere sympathy, solidarity, and support on behalf of the citizens of Sarajevo to the families of the victims, as well as to all citizens of Paris and the people of France, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- The City of Sarajevo will also join the global initiative to support France by illuminating the City Hall with the colors of the national symbol of your country, which has suffered one of the most horrific terrorist attacks in history - said Komšić, expressing his conviction that France, as it has countless times in its history, will respond adequately to the situation it finds itself in.

- At first glance, one might say that terrorism should not be met with repression. The causes should be addressed, not the consequences. Nothing will be achieved if France were to radicalize now - said Komšić.

Thanking him for his visit and words of support, Ambassador Bodonyi emphasized that Mayor Komšić is a great friend of France.

- The fact that you visited me with your associates shows how much you sympathize with us. On this occasion, I want to emphasize that the French people are determined. We are not people who will be intimidated. After we emerge from the shock of the situation that has befallen us, we will continue to defend the values we consider universal. This is a fight for all countries, and this is a matter of freedom. I believe that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a European country that shares these values - emphasized Ambassador Bodonyi.
