Komšić on the death of Pope Francis: Immensely dedicated to peace and justice, left a deep mark on the world

(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić sent a telegram of condolences to the Secretary of State of the Holy See Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the entire Secretariat of State of the Holy See in the Vatican and all those affected by the news of the passing of Pope Francis.

“Your Eminence, with immense sadness I received the news that Pope Francis is no longer with us. He was a man whose modesty, wisdom, and immense dedication to peace and justice left a deep mark on the world. I had the honor and privilege of meeting him and personally witnessing his nobility, wisdom, and kindness.

We discussed the values of dialogue, togetherness, and human solidarity on several occasions. Those conversations left a strong impression on me and will remain deeply etched in my memory, and his words and advice will be my guide in the future.

We will remember Pope Francis for his dedication to peace and human solidarity, for his genuine care for people, especially for those who faced injustice, poverty, and suffering. His simplicity, humanity, and selfless devotion to evangelical principles made him one of the greatest moral authorities of our time.

His messages of peace and togetherness, which he also conveyed to our citizens during his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, will remain a lasting inspiration for all who believe in the values of equality, reconciliation, and mutual respect.

On behalf of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in my own name, I express my deepest condolences to the Holy See, the Catholic Church, and all those who mourn today.
