(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić, on the occasion of the death of former Senator Joe Lieberman, a sincere and great friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina, sent condolences to the President of the United States of America Joe Biden and the family of the deceased.
"I received the news of the death of former US Senator Joe Lieberman, a true friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with deep regret.
His dedication to peace and justice in the most difficult moments for Bosnia and Herzegovina was invaluable, leaving a lasting mark on our region. His strong opposition to the arms embargo, then imposed on our country, helped Bosnia and Herzegovina resist aggression and defend its freedom, sovereignty and integrity.
His brave support in the fight against injustice and his persistence in advocating for just solutions left an indelible mark on the hearts of many, and peace for Bosnia and Herzegovina. May his legacies, such as the BiH Defense Law and the resolution on the committed genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica, for whose adoption he tirelessly advocated, be an inspiration for future generations in the fight for justice and reconciliation.
To you, esteemed Excellency, his family, friends and all who valued him, I express my most sincere condolences."
