Komšić: It is not Serbian to break one's word

BELGRADE, (Patria) - Relations within BiH should be regulated by dialogue, not by complaining to foreign dignitaries, said BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić in an interview with Oslobođenje.

He said that Milorad Dodik, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, is expected to respect BiH laws.

“Changing a political stance is legitimate, but we will never agree to have those decisions devalued simply because someone has changed their political stance. What was signed earlier must be respected. After all, when we talk about those political stances from the RS regarding NATO, in the context of previously made decisions, which were mostly signed by SNSD officials, I would say that it is simply not Serbian to break one's word,” Komšić specified.

He also commented on Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić using Putin's visit to Serbia to thank him for Russia's veto of the Srebrenica resolution.

"I don't know if there are more pressing matters, but I believe that such a statement by Mr. Vučić negates a hundred other statements in which he calls for reconciliation and cooperation in the region, because by doing so he is trying to absolve the perpetrators of the crime of genocide in Srebrenica, perpetrators precisely identified by the Hague Tribunal, established by the UN. Let Mr. Vučić apologize to the victims of genocide, but also to the Serbian people whom he unilaterally labels as genocidal, because no one serious in Bosnia and Herzegovina does that,” Komšić concluded.
