Komšić: Let us not be ashamed to say that there is no compromise with the enemies of BiH regarding its future and borders

(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić attended the event marking the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the city of Aarau, Switzerland, at the invitation of the community of Bosnian-Herzegovinian associations from central Switzerland "Moja BiH".

During his address to more than seven hundred guests, Komšić thanked the organization "Moja BiH" for the invitation, emphasizing that if we give up on BiH, we cannot count on anyone else to fight for us. He also highlighted the importance of marking the Statehood Day of BiH and gathering on significant dates in the history of our homeland, as well as the importance of preserving the achievements of the homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"It is important that we remain connected, that our children remain connected and tied to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The state must be preserved, cared for, and fought for. In the world, there are far more peoples than states. BiH is, besides our families, certainly the most important thing to fight for. Whatever it is, it is ours. There have been so many challenges in the history of our country, so many empires and armies have passed over it, and most of them have perished, they are gone. BiH still stands where it was. Our wish is for this country to continue to exist, to become better; we have defended it, we have given everything we could to defend it," said Komšić.

"There would be no Bosnia and Herzegovina if we had not taken our destiny into our own hands and opposed not one, not two enemies, but also opposed our false friends who patted us on the back and waited for us to be killed. If a person is not ready and does not have the courage to take destiny into his own hands, if he is not ready to fight for what he cares about—family, homeland, state—no one else will fight for him. That rule applies today as well," he said.

"The strength is within us and only within us, and if we are ready to fight for BiH, then we can also count on friends. If we give up, do not count on anyone else to fight for us. Let us not be ashamed to say how much we care about BiH and that there is no compromise with the enemies of this country regarding the future and borders of BiH," said Komšić.
