Komšić: No civic state as long as ethnic policies dominate

SARAJevo, (Patrai) - The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the president of DF, Željko Komšić, commented on one of the programmatic goals of SDA, which is being assessed in public as a demand for the establishment of a civic arrangement of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In this regard, Komšić points out that there will be no civic state as long as ethnic policies dominate in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced from the office of the Chairman of the BiH Presidency.

"The path to a civic state can only lead through the weakening of the ethnic in favor of the civic concept, which is an expression of the aspiration for equal rights for all citizens and, of course, part of European standards. After all, it is a longer process, which is inevitable," Komšić believes.

He states that by rejecting the outdated ethno-constitutional principle, and by implementing the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and implementing the recommendations and measures from the European Commission's Opinion, a more meaningful policy based on the idea of a civic state of Bosnia and Herzegovina can be pursued.
