Komšić: We will not enter government at any cost

Željko Komšić, president of the Democratic Front, said at today's press conference that he would "swallow a frog if it would bring benefit to the people of BiH," writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

However, he emphasised that although the DF won a significant number of votes in the recent General Elections, he will not enter government at any cost.

He will especially not enter government if it is not formed on the principle of fighting corruption, but rather on the principle of who gets Elektroprivreda BiH and who gets BH Telecom, as was the case before.

Although a young party, the DF should have around 14 deputies out of a total of 98 in the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, even according to incomplete data from the Central Election Commission of BiH (CIK), and could be an unavoidable factor in the formation of government at the state level.

Komšić did not want to talk about possible coalitions at today's conference, but he said that the election winners have the responsibility to start the discussion on forming a government. When asked by a journalist about the unification of the left, i.e., the DF and the SDP, which has been much discussed after the elections, Komšić said that his party is open to anything that will bring progress to the country.

- There are many honest and hardworking people in the SDP, and the poor result of this party in the elections is the fault of one man or a group of people - said Komšić, writes NAP.
