Komšić after meeting with German and French ministers: New High Representative must work on real integration of BiH into the EU

(Patria) - Members of the BiH Presidency spoke today in Sarajevo with the State Ministers for Europe of the Republic of France and the Federal Republic of Germany, Benjamin Haddad and Gunther Krichbaum.

On that occasion, member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić addressed the public on social networks.

He stated that today he repeated the same thing he told previous interlocutors - the selection of the High Representative should be carried out in accordance with the established practice of selection in the Peace Implementation Council (PIC).

"The new High Representative should be a person of trust, impartial and ready to promote the real integration of our country on its European path.

Elections aimed at destabilizing the situation, according to the wishes of neighboring countries, can only create new instabilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Opening the issue of the OHR's departure, without a comprehensive reform of the Dayton Agreement, is a dangerous precedent, leaving our country without the necessary capacities for more functional decision-making.

If the rule of law applies in the EU and its member states, then we insist on that system of values in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well, without double standards.

Otherwise, the European path remains merely a declarative goal, without real confirmation of European values in practice," wrote Komšić on his Facebook profile.
