Komšić at ceremonial academy: It is important to pass on the feeling of loyalty to Bosnia and Herzegovina to the future generation

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić attended a ceremonial academy tonight on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the formation of the 101st Motorized Brigade of the First Corps of the Army of RBiH.

The ceremonial academy was held at the Multimedia Center of the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, and before its beginning, Komšić laid flowers at the Memorial Monument in front of the Municipality building.

- It is important to pass on the feeling of loyalty to Bosnia and Herzegovina to the future generation, regardless of how it looks thirty years after the war. Homeland is homeland, whatever it is, it is ours!

We must continue to pass on that love and that relationship towards Bosnia and Herzegovina to future generations. Our parents, and those before us, instilled the very same love deep in our hearts.

That is why everything looked the way it did from 1992 to the end of 1995; we managed to defend the country, even though at times it seemed impossible, but we succeeded.

Fellow soldiers, may the Bosnian land rest lightly upon you,” Komšić, who was himself a member of the Army of RBiH and holder of the highest wartime recognition “Golden Lily”, stated on this occasion.

Let us remind you that the 101st Motorized Brigade of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was formed in 1993, and its area of responsibility extended to the areas of the municipalities of Novo Sarajevo and Novi Grad.

In the final phase of the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, that brigade was often engaged in battlefields outside the area of responsibility of the First Corps of the Army of RBiH.

In its ranks, 8,157 soldiers fought for a free and independent Bosnia and Herzegovina, while 26 of them were awarded the highest wartime recognition “Golden Lily”.
