Komšić at meeting with European Union leaders

BRUSSELS, (Patria) - President of the European Council Charles Michel will host an informal meeting of European Union and Western Balkan leaders in Brussels.

The new leadership of EU institutions, headed by the President of the European Council, aims to convey through this meeting that the Western Balkan region has the support and commitment of the EU.

On behalf of the EU, the meeting will also be attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell, and Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of Croatia, which currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

On behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting will be attended by the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović, President of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski, and President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi.

This is the first meeting of leaders of EU institutions and the Western Balkans after the 2019 European elections and the appointment of new top EU officials, as well as the new EU strategy for the Western Balkans.
