Komšić: Amendments to the Election Law are good for fairer elections, now focus on other laws

(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić believes that the amendments to the Election Law imposed today by High Representative Christian Schmidt will ensure fairer elections in the long term.

"It will take time to see all the effects of the amendments, but for now it seems that the vote of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be worth more than before, because there will be less manipulation of votes.

It is also good for Bosnia and Herzegovina that we are taking a step forward in the process of accession to the European Union, and that the HDZ no longer has the opportunity to impose its political ambitions in the form of a third entity in the process of protecting electoral integrity.

Now is the time to focus on other laws necessary for opening negotiations," Komšić stated.
