Komšić and Sattler: Presence of foreign judges is protection against unconstitutional actions

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić received in a working visit Johann Sattler, Head of the Delegation and Special Representative of the European Union to BiH, with whom he discussed the Opinion of the European Commission on Bosnia and Herzegovina's application for membership in the European Union, i.e., the fulfillment of 14 key priorities to meet the conditions for obtaining candidate status.

It was jointly noted that in the past year, very little has been done to fulfill the 14 key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission, and that in this regard, emphasis should be placed on the Council of Ministers and the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the bodies bearing the greatest burden of tasks arising from the Opinion of the European Commission, announced Komšić's Cabinet.

The discussion also covered the participation of foreign judges in the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it was jointly assessed that their presence represents protection against any unconstitutional actions, and that the role of foreign judges in the highest judicial body of Bosnia and Herzegovina is very significant.

The interlocutors also discussed the launch of socio-economic reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
