Komšić and Nikšić: We Support the Government in Reforms, and So Far They Have Only Adopted the Labour Law

Leaders of the SDP and DF, Nermin Nikšić and Željko Komšić, appearing tonight on Dnevnik D of Federal Television, stated that they believe the coalition of the SDA, SBB, HDZ BiH will not collapse, despite the fact that Fahrudin Radončić, leader of one of the coalition parties, ended up in custody, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Komšić said that the SBB has no other option but to remain in power, so he does not believe the coalition will collapse. However, both Nikšić and Komšić are not optimistic regarding the functioning of the government in the Federation of BiH, regardless of the survival of the current coalition.
The opposition leaders reminded that the SDP and DF have been supporting the authorities on the reform path of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the beginning. Unfortunately, they said, these reforms have still not even started in BiH. The authorities have only adopted the Labour Law from the reform agenda, and now they do not even know what to do with that law, warn Nikšić and Komšić.

When asked by the host whether she believes that Fahrudin Radončić was arrested in a politically motivated process, Željko Komšić said that these are very serious accusations and that he does not think anyone in BiH would engage in something like that.

Nermin Nikšić stated that everyone should be equal before the law, and politicians might bear even greater responsibility than other people. Finally, Nikšić said, the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be allowed to do its job, but also to be accountable for what they do. Both Nikšić and Komšić hope that the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina knows what it is doing in the case of Radončić as well.

- We are all equal before the law, regardless of who it is, Radončić or someone from my party, we must all be equal before the law - said Nikšić.

When asked whether the left would enter the government instead of the SBB if the coalition were to collapse, both Nikšić and Komšić said they do not think that could happen. Komšić reminded that the DF left the government because the ruling parties did not want to work according to the law. He does not see that this has changed now. For Nikšić and Komšić, the only way out of the political crisis in BiH is to amend the law and call new elections, writes Patria.
