Komšić and Izetbegović reach agreement in principle: Which four ministries is DF seeking?

Delegations of SDA and Democratic Front discussed the distribution of portfolios, i.e. ministries in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina yesterday in Sarajevo, writes the Patria News Agency.

DF is seeking the ministries of energy, mining and industry, health, education, and tourism and environmental protection.

As Patria learns, after Željko Komšić presented DF's demands, Bakir Izetbegović had no objections.

Although Komšić stated at the beginning of the negotiations that everything would be done vertically, meaning if, for example, the energy sector fell to DF, all director positions, i.e., companies under that ministry's jurisdiction, would go to his party, the possibility of discussing this was left open, as it was ultimately concluded that both Komšić and Izetbegović aim to form the federal government as soon as possible to start implementing the promised goals. 

This means that if a director of a company under the jurisdiction of a ministry assigned to DF or SDA has been performing well, they will remain in their position, regardless of the minister's party affiliation. 

Now, discussions are to follow between DF-SDA and HDZ BiH.

It is already known that Dragan Čović is seeking five Croatian and one Serbian ministerial position, which he promised to his political partner Milorad Dodik.

However, DF is also seeking three Serbian positions, and it remains to be seen whether and who from these two parties will back down during negotiations.
