Komšić and Bećirović with NAC members: Preserving Bosnia and Herzegovina's stability is in NATO's interest

(Patria) - Chairman and member of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović spoke today in Sarajevo with a high-level NATO delegation.

During the meeting with members of the North Atlantic Council (NAC), i.e., ambassadors of NATO member states and Deputy Secretary General of NATO Mircea Geoană, clear support was expressed for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multi-ethnic character of BiH.

The importance of respecting human rights and implementing reforms on the Euro-Atlantic path was highlighted.

"NATO's door is open, and preserving the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in NATO's interest. NATO remains committed to supporting the strengthening of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

I warned about the danger of politicizing the functioning of the Armed Forces of BiH if amendments to the BiH Defense Law are adopted.

I emphasized the importance of accelerating reform processes, which will speed up our country's path to NATO and EU membership," Komšić announced after the meeting.
