Komšić and Bećirović host reception on BiH Statehood Day

(Patria) - A formal reception was held tonight at the Sarajevo City Hall to mark November 25th, Bosnia and Herzegovina Statehood Day.

The hosts of the reception, which began around 6 PM, were BiH Presidency members Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović.

Numerous guests from the world of politics, culture, sports, public and religious life, and media representatives are attending the reception...

We remind you that 81 years ago today, the First Session of ZAVNOBiH was held.

It was the highest political, representative, and legislative body of the Federal State of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where decisions on the restoration of Bosnia and Herzegovina's statehood were made.

Through the Resolution from the First Session of ZAVNOBiH, Serbs, Croats, and Muslims opted for the restoration of Bosnia and Herzegovina's statehood.

The First Session was chaired by Dr. Vojo Kecmanović, with Avdo Humo, Đuro Pucar Stari, and Aleksandar Preha as deputies, and Hasan Brkić as secretary.

The First Session of ZAVNOBiH began in Mrkonjić Grad on November 25, 1943, at 7 PM. It concluded the same night (November 26) at 4 AM.

(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrates Statehood Day today. 81 years ago today, the first session of the State Anti-fascist Council for the National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ZAVNOBiH) was held. It was the highest political, represent

ZAVNOBiH was founded as the central political representation of the National Liberation Movement (NOP) and the highest organ of people's authority in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The delegates adopted the ZAVNOBiH Resolution and the Proclamation to the Peoples of BiH, emphasizing that in the future, only ZAVNOBiH and AVNOJ could represent and speak for BiH and its peoples, both domestically and abroad.

These acts also expressed the determination of the peoples of BiH that their country, which is neither Serbian, nor Croatian, nor Muslim, but rather Serbian, Muslim, and Croatian, should be a brotherhood of equals where full equality of all Serbs, Muslims, and Croats would be ensured.

At the session, a delegation of 58 members was elected to represent BiH at the Second Session of AVNOJ (November 29, 1943), where the decisions of ZAVNOBiH were confirmed.
