Komšić and Bećirović host reception on the occasion of BiH Statehood Day at the BiH Presidency

(Patria) - Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chairman Željko Komšić and member Denis Bećirović are hosting a reception on the occasion of November 25, Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The reception will be held on Saturday, November 25, starting at 6 p.m. in the building of the BiH Presidency.

The first session of the State Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ZAVNOBiH), which was the highest political, representative and legislative body of the Federal State of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where decisions on the renewal of the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina were made, was held on November 25, 1943.

By the Resolution of the First Session of ZAVNOBiH, Serbs, Croats and Muslims committed themselves to the renewal of the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first session was chaired by Dr. Vojo Kecmanović, and the deputies were Avdo Humo, Đuro Pucar Stari, Aleksandar Preha, and secretary Hasan Brkić.

The first session of ZAVNOBiH began in Mrkonjić-Grad on November 25, 1943 at 7 p.m. It ended the same night (November 26) at 4 a.m. ZAVNOBiH was established as the central political representation of the National Liberation Movement (NOP) and the highest body of people's authority in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The delegates adopted the Resolution of ZAVNOBiH and the Proclamation to the peoples of BiH, in which it is emphasized that in the future, BiH and its peoples at home and abroad can only be represented and presented by ZAVNOBiH and AVNOJ.

These acts also expressed the determination of the peoples of BiH that their country, which is neither Serbian, nor Croatian, nor Muslim, but both Serbian and Muslim and Croatian, should be a fraternal community in which full equality of all Serbs, Muslims and Croats will be ensured. At the session, a delegation of 58 members was elected, which would represent BiH at the Second Session of AVNOJ (November 29, 1943), where the decisions of ZAVNOBiH were confirmed.
