(Patria) - Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during today's activities and marking of the Statehood Day of BiH, Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović, congratulated all citizens of BiH on this state holiday, but also stated that the state is indestructible.
The Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Željko Komšić, emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to face political challenges stemming from unresolved issues from the past.
"There is no reason for some things that are happening in public political life, especially in BiH, but that is the constitution of our state and its constitutional organization, and you cannot escape from that. You must adhere to the Constitution of BiH and valid laws," said Komšić, adding that he believes that new generations will be wiser and more pragmatic in establishing relations in the country.
He emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a long history and has shown through centuries that it is indestructible.
"It is indestructible because it has its basis and foundation. After all, there is always a sufficient number, a majority of people in BiH who are ready to defend it, in any way, depending on the situation they find themselves in," Komšić stated.
Member of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović, congratulated Statehood Day to citizens in the homeland and diaspora, emphasizing that November 25th is deeply embedded in the foundations of the state.
"Statehood Day and the first session of ZAVNOBiH are embedded in the foundations of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. And this is a kind of roadmap for the future of our state," said Bećirović.
He stated that the statehood of BiH was renewed at the ZAVNOBiH session in 1943, and its independence was confirmed in the referendum in 1992.
"We did not come into existence after the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement on November 21st. Bosnia and Herzegovina became a member of the United Nations on May 22, 1992. That is why we celebrate Statehood Day on November 25th and Independence Day on March 1st," said Bećirović.
Speaking about current political messages from the entity of Republika Srpska, Bećirović emphasized that the state institutions exist and will continue to exist.
"A politician from the entity of RS, now the former president of the entity of RS, told us at the beginning of this year that there is no Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, no Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, no Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, no state agencies, and that there will be no state of BiH. Now, at the end of the year, we see that there is indeed a Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH exists and that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina will exist forever. The only thing that doesn't exist is that politician in the position of president of the entity of RS," Bećirović stated.
