Komšić: Ashton told me there will be no new approach

Member of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić stated today in Brussels that he is sure there will be no new approach from the European Union towards BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP). Responding to a journalist's question regarding the initiative of certain member states to offer BiH a new and different approach, Komšić expressed skepticism that this could happen.

- There will be no special approach, and that should be clear to us. When I directly asked the High Representative for Foreign Affairs of the EU, when she was in Sarajevo a few days ago, if there would be a different approach, I was told that the standards for BiH are already sufficiently lowered and that there will be no concessions when it comes to fulfilling basic standards - said Komšić, who is staying in Brussels.

He then thanked the authorities of Slovenia and Croatia who advocate for a special approach, but said that it will certainly not happen, reports NAP.
