(Patria) - The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton is the first in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to procure armored vehicles, and BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić addressed this occasion.
"The first thing I can say is we hope we never need them. Unfortunately, the place and time we live in justify the procurement of such vehicles. I want to thank the TK Government for realizing this. This is the first time the TK Government has procured such equipment.
We all know that the police should primarily serve the citizens, and that all this we see today is in the service of greater security for the citizens and Tuzla Canton. Given the current situation, I fear that the need for such equipment will be long-lasting.
The times are such that almost the entire world has gone mad. Look at what is happening and the world is rapidly heading in a direction that is difficult to assess.
The best situation is that they are never needed, but let's have them, just in case. It is very important that we have a well-equipped police force. Because we have lived in a delusion for a very long time that someone else will take care of our security. No one will! Because everything that is happening in the world today shows that.
If you do not take responsibility for yourselves in any segment, not just this one, it is unlikely that someone else will. We must become aware, because no one will fight for this country if we do not do it ourselves," said Komšić.
The Senator Roshel transporters, procured by Irfan Halilagić's Government and approved by the TK Assembly, are used by police agencies in the USA and Canada, and Roshel also produces specialized vehicles for NASA.
Police officers will now be much safer in managing and responding to crisis situations, such as more serious disturbances of public order and peace.
The Senator is a larger version of an off-road vehicle and has a capacity of eight seats. According to the specifications, it has ballistic protection up to a caliber of 7.62 mm.
The perimeter armor of the passenger compartment and engine compartment is designed to provide protection up to CEN B7 ballistic protection level.
All materials used have been tested by internationally recognized North American and European laboratories to meet ballistic protection standards.
The vehicle was tested by the National Research Council of Canada to confirm its static rollover threshold and rollover response characteristics.
