Komšić congratulates May 1st: Economic development must be a motive to re-evaluate the contribution of workers

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić sent congratulations to all workers in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of the International Labour Day, May 1st.

"May 1st reminds us of the historical struggle for the principle of social equality through the struggle for the rights of workers and for the reduction of inappropriate social and material differences among people. Workers are the driving force of every society, including our Bosnian society. The overall social relations in the country depend on the mobility and position enjoyed by this largest category, which is why the degree of rights that workers have today in Bosnia and Herzegovina is of vital importance for the country", the congratulatory message stated.

He added, "authorities at all levels, together with employers and the state as an employer, are obliged to offer workers adequate working conditions, not only because they must respect the legal framework, but also out of responsibility towards the community and society in general".

"Economic development that is visible, if social conditions are viewed in a broader context, must be a motive on the basis of which the contribution of workers will be re-evaluated, with the awareness that the most important thing is to keep our workers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I wish all workers in Bosnia and Herzegovina a happy May 1st", stated the congratulatory message from the Member of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić. .
