Komšić: Behmen was a man committed to a better life for all people

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Željko Komšić, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Democratic Front, expressed condolences to the family of the late Alija Behmen, former mayor of Sarajevo and prime minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Alija Behmen was a prominent social democrat and we feel great gratitude for his dedication to the common path of all of us who were committed to a better life for all people of our homeland.

He will remain in our hearts as a memory of a man who was a true anti-fascist and humanist - said DF president Željko Komšić.

We recall, Alija Behmen, a prominent politician and university professor, passed away in Sarajevo at the age of 78.

Behmen suffered a severe stroke a few days ago, after which he was admitted to KCUS. Unfortunately, he lost his battle for life.
