Komšić: If one set of rules applies to citizens and another to politicians, then it is an unjust state!

The Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared the Decree on the Management of Enterprises unconstitutional as early as November 20, 2015, but the Constitutional Court of the FBiH has still not published this decision, writes the Patria news agency.

The Vice President of the FBiH, Milan Dunović, submitted a request for a review of constitutionality to the Constitutional Court of the FBiH on June 9, 2015, while a public hearing on this request before the Court was held on November 2, 2015.

The adoption of this Decree was one of the key reasons for the collapse of the coalition of the SDA, HDZ, and DF, but the publication of this decision is still pending. Precisely because of the fact that Dunović filed an appeal, we were interested in the stance of Željko Komšić, the leader of the Democratic Front.

- Unfortunately, we live in a time where one of the fundamental pillars of any orderly society, and thus of the state, which is the legal order and those who protect it, is distorted here. At this moment, whether the decision of the Constitutional Court of the FBiH is published or not, it essentially changes nothing. Why it is not being published, I do not know, and I always comment on what the judiciary does with some reserve and rarely. Because I am a lawyer myself and I know what that is, but there are many rulings of the Constitutional Court that are not implemented – warned Komšić.

Furthermore, the president of the DF states that on such foundations we will never move forward because certain legal obligations cannot apply to citizens while not applying to someone involved in politics.

- You are obliged to respect something, and the state will force you to do so through repressive measures, but it will not force me, who holds a certain position. Now ask yourself what message you carry in your head when you live in such a state, because it is an unjust state. Can the people have trust in an unjust state? One set of rules applies to you, and another to politicians, and then there is no trust. All of this is the result of democratic elections, and we have all chosen it ourselves, so let us not use the argument 'it wasn't me.' Because I certainly did not vote for Izetbegović or Čović, but I am also responsible for what is happening. So, we, the people, have chosen this ourselves, and that is the only truth that is hard, painful, and perhaps should not be spoken, but it is my duty to say it. We, the people, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have chosen this, and that's that – says Komšić.
