(Patria) - A session of the Election and Appointment Commission of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament is underway, attended by several representatives from the opposition parties SDA, DF, and the Party for BiH. The chairperson of the Commission, Mladen Bošković (HDZ BiH), proposed the appointment of Marin Vukoja to the Constitutional Court of BiH. However, this proposal cannot pass without the support of the Commission members from the 'trojka' parties.
The discussion is about the election of a judge to the Constitutional Court of BiH, specifically the list that the Commission will send to the Parliament before the session scheduled for May 28.
Dragan Mioković, a member of the Election and Appointment Commission, stated that they have a political directive from Our Party for representatives in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament to vote for Marin Vukoja.
According to the list, Marin Vukoja is indeed the top-ranked candidate, but a large number of representatives believe that the entire list should be presented to Parliament, and each candidate should be voted on individually, not just the name of Marin Vukoja, on whose appointment HDZ BiH and Dragan Čović are insisting.
Mahir Mešalić, attending the Commission session, addressed Mioković, reminding him that the caucuses of the DF, SDP BiH, and Our Party requested in October 2022 that multiple candidates be considered for the election of a judge to the Constitutional Court of BiH. This request was signed by Lana Prlić, Sabina Ćudić, Nasiha Pozder, Mirsad Čamdžić, Damir Mašić, and other members of the then-caucus, including Alma Kratina and others from the DF caucus.
'With this document, they requested that the election be from multiple candidates in one or more voting rounds publicly in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament. The 'trojka' parties have no excuse to refuse this because they asked for it from us in the previous term,' said Mešalić.

Dennis Gratz also took the floor and called on the Commission members not to participate in this farce.
'We will call you out individually and appeal to you; all of this needs to be returned to the beginning; this is a farce. Mr. Mioković, I appeal to you specifically as a man of principles and a code of conduct, given that this process has been irreversibly destroyed, do not vote. I am telling you this with the noblest intentions. What you are doing is not good. Do not participate in such a farce. You will make the decision as you plan, but we will call each of you by name and appeal to you not to allow what you are currently doing. We will appeal to your dignity and your personal ethics not to do this,' said Gratz.
