Anti-Corruption Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Prosecutor Džermin Pašić to be Invited to a Public Hearing

(Patria) - The Anti-Corruption Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH), at the continuation of its 25th session, made a decision to organize a public hearing regarding the issue of accreditation and control of the work of higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Committee made this decision after considering a petition concerning the work of the European University Kallos in Tuzla. The Committee also requested the Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of BiH to respond within seven days to the allegations from the aforementioned petition.

The Committee decided that, as part of the public hearing regarding the work of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, prosecutor Džermin Pašić of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, who served as Deputy Chief Prosecutor and Head of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, will also be invited to the public hearing.

The Committee concluded to send a letter to the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight against Corruption, warning the Agency that they failed to protect whistleblowers in the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, and requesting that the Agency urgently take actions within its competence, and inform the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH of the measures and actions taken.

It was concluded that the Initiative of MP Šemsudin Mehmedović for investigating irregularities in the work of the Collegium of the Secretariat of the PSBiH be forwarded to the Collegium of the Secretariat, and that a response be requested within 30 days regarding what has been done concerning the specific cases mentioned in the initiative, as well as regarding the allegations from the statement of the Trade Union Organization of the PSBiH dated February 25, 2026. It was also concluded that the Initiative be forwarded to the collegiums of both houses of the PSBiH.

At today's session, the Committee also adopted a conclusion to request from the Central Election Commission of BiH information on the selection of the most favorable bidder in the tender for the introduction of new technologies in the electoral process.

The Committee took note of the response from the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Doboj regarding activities undertaken based on criminal reports related to irregularities during the conduct of the 2020 Local Elections. The Committee will, upon completion of the proceedings on all submitted reports, request detailed information on all cases related to the conduct of the 2020 Local Elections in Doboj.

The response of the Commission for Decision on Conflict of Interest in Institutions of BiH dated February 13, 2026, was also taken note of. The Committee will again request information after the Commission for Decision on Conflict of Interest in Institutions of BiH completes the determination of facts and makes a decision in this case.

Regarding the Initiative for parliamentary oversight and investigation of systemic corruption in the Agency for Civil Service of BiH, the Committee requested detailed information from the Agency and the Civil Service Appeals Board regarding the allegations from this Initiative.

Received petitions from citizens were taken note of. Regarding these petitions, the Committee will send letters to the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, requesting information on the handling of cases based on criminal reports from individuals who addressed the Committee.

The Committee, as decided, will participate in the organization of an international conference on experiences and challenges of using new technologies in the electoral process, which will be held in mid-May at the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
