Anti-Corruption Commission on the situation in the UIO: Is a hearing of Director Zoran Tegeltija next?

(Patria) - The Anti-Corruption Commission will decide at today's session on a public hearing regarding the work of the UIOBiH and other individuals, with a special focus on the actions of judicial institutions in connection with criminal cases involving grounds for suspicion of corruption in the UIOBiH since 2014.

In addition to the "Pandora" case, from which numerous suspects for corruption in the UIO have disappeared, the Commission has also received two anonymous petitions. One concerns the construction of customs terminals and favoritism towards certain investors who know that a tender will be announced, and who already have a pre-built customs station.

The second petition is from November 1, 2025, when the reporter warned about the competition for the selection of four assistant directors of the UIO, Zoran Tegeltija. Even then, it was known who the assistants would be, which has been officially confirmed these days. Of the four assistants, two are Croats and two are Serbs, while there is no place for Bosniaks.

Incidentally, the UIO BiH is missing more than 200 Bosniaks according to the 2013 Census. Since June 2023, the head of the UIO has been Zoran Tegeltija, and previously it was Miro Džakula.

If the Commission schedules a public hearing for Director Tegeltija, the question is whether he will appear before the Commission at all, as was the case with BHANSA Director Davorin Primorac, or whether he will send a replacement.

Given the information that the names of the four assistant directors of the UIO were known in advance, despite a public competition, the question arises as to whether the Prosecutor's Office of BiH sees anything problematic in this case.
