Commemoration for Tvrtko Kulenović on April 17 at ANU BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Following the death of academician Tvrtko Kulenović, who passed away on Saturday in Sarajevo, a joint commemorative session of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM.

The burial will take place the same day at the Bare city cemetery at 3:00 PM.

Kulenović was a long-time professor and professor emeritus at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, the first president of the PEN Center of Bosnia and Herzegovina, director of the National Theatre in Sarajevo, and a full member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He made his literary debut in the late 1960s and published more than 20 books of travelogues, short stories, radio dramas, and novels, including books in the fields of literary theory and theater studies.

For his work, he received several significant awards, including the April 6 Award of the City of Sarajevo (1975), and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
