Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo visited the Srebrenica Memorial Center

(Patria) - The Srebrenica Memorial Center hosted the Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, Brigadier General Matthew Valas, today. Brigadier General Valas began his visit by arriving at the cemetery where, together with a delegation, he laid a wreath and paid tribute to the victims of the genocide.

During his tour of the Memorial Center's exhibitions, General Valas had the opportunity to learn about the historical facts and memories of the suffering of innocent victims. His visit represents a significant gesture of support and solidarity with the victims' families and all those working to preserve the memory of the genocide.

After touring the exhibitions, General Valas met with the Director of the Memorial Center, Dr. Suljagić. During the meeting, they discussed the current working conditions of the Memorial Center, as well as the challenges they face in preserving and presenting historical materials and educating visitors.

Director Suljagić expressed his gratitude to the General for the visit and emphasized the importance of support from international institutions and organizations in the continuous work of preserving the memory of the genocide victims.

The Srebrenica Memorial Center remains dedicated to its mission of preserving the memory of the genocide victims and contributing to building peace and tolerance through educational programs.
