EUFOR Commander with Vilić: Previous cooperation assessed as good

Newly appointed EUFOR Commander, Major General Johan Luif, visited the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH today with his associates, where he met with the Director of the Directorate, Mirsad Vilić, and his deputy, Milo Jurić, reports the Patria News Agency. 

Vilić informed the guests about the responsibilities and organizational structure of the Directorate, as well as the role it plays in the security sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Activities undertaken and currently in progress by the Directorate to build its capacities, reflected in the procurement of material-technical resources and the organization of training for police officers, were presented.

Vilić particularly emphasized the signing of the Agreement on Mutual Assistance and Operational Cooperation of Law Enforcement Agencies and the importance of this Agreement in strengthening mutual cooperation and communication.

In accordance with its legal responsibilities, the Directorate maintains continuous cooperation with EUFOR in BiH through an appointed contact person. This cooperation relates to the exchange of security-relevant information, as well as announcements and notifications regarding EUFOR activities conducted in BiH.

Major General Luif expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Directorate to date, and emphasized that during his mandate, he will ensure that future cooperation and communication are maintained at a high professional level. He also highlighted EUFOR's readiness in BiH, in accordance with its mission, to participate in preserving a secure environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in humanitarian missions if the need arises, it was announced from the Directorate.
