Kolinda with friends on a private visit to Medjugorje

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović arrived in Medjugorje on Wednesday evening for a private visit to the famous Marian pilgrimage site, and visited Podbrdo, the place where, according to belief, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared, reports the Patria News Agency.

On Thursday morning, President Grabar Kitarović met with the local Franciscans who manage the parish at the Medjugorje Parish Office.

After that, with a group of friends, she headed to the Podbrdo hill near Medjugorje, the place where Our Lady allegedly first appeared in 1981 to six children. Some of them still claim to have apparitions. President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović will stay in Medjugorje for three days, and it is unofficially rumored that she will also visit the Franciscan Monastery in Mostar, Croatian media report.
