Collective agreement for miners brings better working conditions, valid until December 31, 2024

(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at an urgent meeting held by phone, gave consent to the Collective Agreement
on the rights and obligations of employers and workers in the mining sector in the FBiH, and authorized its
signing by the Federal Minister of Mining, Energy and Industry, Vedran Lakić. The agreement is concluded for a period of one year
between the Independent Union of Mine Workers of the FBiH and the Independent Union of Miners in the FBiH on one side,
and the Federal Government on the other.

This collective agreement regulates the mutual rights, obligations and responsibilities of employers and
workers arising from work and on the basis of work, mutual relations of the contracting parties, as well as the procedure for amendments and
supplements to this agreement, and other issues of importance for workers and employers.

Among other things, the Collective Agreement specifies that the employer will each month adopt a Decision
on determining the net hourly rate for the previous month in accordance with the financial capabilities of the company, and it
cannot be less than three BAM. The percentage increase in the net hourly rate between 2.70 BAM and three BAM (11 percent)
will also apply in mines where, at the time of entry into force of this collective agreement,
a higher net hourly rate than 2.90 BAM is applied for the existing complexity coefficients of each job position. By the Rulebook on Work, ranking of job positions into salary grades and systematization of job positions, the employer,
with mandatory consultation with the representative union, determines the complexity coefficient of each job
position in a ratio of one to four, with the participation of union representatives in the work of the relevant commission, in accordance
with the rulebook on work.

The agreement also stipulates that the basic salary of the worker is increased for night work by 50 percent of the net hourly rate,
the same as for overtime work, as well as work on holidays that are non-working days by law, and for work on the day
of weekly rest by 30 percent of the net hourly rate. Also, a linear increase is determined for each worker on a
monthly basis in the net amount of 350 BAM proportional to the number of hours worked in that month, and this
increase will be shown separately on the pay slip. Among other things, the Collective Agreement stipulates that the
basic salary is increased by 0.6 percent for each completed year of pensionable service, provided that the total increase
in salary on this basis cannot exceed 20 percent. The increase in basic salary based on past service can also be regulated more favorably by the rulebook on work and other documents of the employer.

The Collective Agreement stipulates that the employer is obliged to provide the worker with meals during working hours, and if not provided, the worker is paid compensation in a daily amount ranging from 13 BAM to 17 BAM, so that for an employer who paid a hot meal in the amount of 14 BAM or more, it cannot be paid in an amount less than 17 BAM, and where the employer paid 10 BAM or more, the amount for this purpose cannot be less than 13 BAM.

This Collective Agreement is concluded for a period until December 31, 2024, with the possibility of extension, and
enters into force on January 1, 2024, and will be published in the Official Gazette of the FBiH.
