SDA Collegium demands that PIC stop the referendum

The SDA Collegium today supported the letter that BiH Presidency member Bakir Izetbegović sent to the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC), the party announced.

The SDA Collegium expects that at tomorrow's session, the PIC will stop the process of destabilizing BiH by annulling the decision of the National Assembly of the RS on the referendum scheduled for September 25.

- We call on the authorities in the RS to respect the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of BiH, and for this country to turn towards the European, NATO, and reform path - the statement reads.

The SDA Collegium further demands that BiH institutions undertake all constitutionally and legally prescribed activities to protect the constitutional-legal order, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of BiH. The party's statement notes that this primarily refers to the activities of the Constitutional Court of BiH, and the activities of state judicial institutions regarding prosecution under Article 239 of the Criminal Code of BiH (non-compliance with decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH).

The SDA Collegium also considers inappropriate the statements of some officials of the Croatian National Assembly about the revival of Herzeg-Bosnia.

- At this moment, we must all contribute to the stability of BiH, and not further destabilize the situation by invoking ghosts of the past, such as the para-state entity for which verdicts are pending in The Hague - the statement reads.

- We demand that BiH institutions urgently investigate the circumstances under which the joint police exercise of the RS entity police and the police of Serbia was held. There are serious indications that laws regarding the participation of police officers from BiH in activities in other countries have been violated. If any exercise was to be conducted, it should have been done with BiH police structures, with strict adherence to all laws - the party's statement further states, as reported by Patria.
