Collegium of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament did not schedule a session, veterans disappointed

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, which met today in Sarajevo, did not schedule a session of that House at which the agreed text of the law on veterans should have been considered.

The reason is that the text was not submitted to the registry.

As stated by the head of the Democratic Front (DF) Club in the Federal Parliament, Dženan Đonlagić, when the text of the agreed law is submitted to the protocol, the House of Representatives is ready to schedule an emergency session.

Demobilized veterans who were waiting for the Collegium's decision are disappointed and are currently coordinating on what to do next.

We remind you that the text of the Law on the Rights of Demobilized Veterans and Members of Their Families was agreed upon earlier this week in Sarajevo by the Joint Commission of both houses of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.

The House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament supported the Draft Law at an emergency session held on July 26, but in a different text than previously adopted by the House of Representatives.

On that occasion, the demands of veterans expressed in amendments, which the Federation Government had previously not accepted, were adopted.

For the law to enter into force, it must be adopted in an agreed text by both houses of the Federal Parliament.

Representatives of war veterans have threatened to block the Federation of BiH if sessions are not scheduled.
