Collegium of Directors of the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH at International Conference in Azerbaijan

(Patria) - Members of the Collegium of Directors of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nikola Perišić and Marko Jurišić, will participate on Monday, September 18, in a very important international conference held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, organized by the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Missing Persons and Hostages of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The theme of the International Conference is "Increasing National and Global Efforts in Shedding Light on the Fates of Missing Persons", and participants in the conference, besides Bosnia and Herzegovina, will include representatives from Turkey, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Kuwait, Chile, Serbia, Croatia, Cyprus, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, the United Nations Assembly, as well as representatives of families of missing persons, and various international organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Commission on Missing Persons, the International Organization for Migration.

Members of the Collegium of Directors, Nikola Perišić and Marko Jurišić, will present Bosnia and Herzegovina's experiences at this international conference regarding the process of searching for missing persons. At the same time, during short meetings with other participating countries at this conference, they will exchange experiences and recommendations that could improve the process of searching for missing persons.

Members of the Collegium of Directors of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina met last year with Vilayat Guliyev, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, who at the time requested the assistance of the Institute and its experts in the process of searching for missing persons, as an institution recognized worldwide as a leader in searching for victims of enforced disappearances.
