Koldžo: I did not give land to anyone nor did I sign permits, everything was done in 2001.

In the last ten days, there has been a lot of media dust raised around the construction of a residential and commercial building in the Čengić-Vila settlement, Novo Sarajevo municipality.

A group of citizens has announced for today the holding of a meeting in the Čengić-Vila 2 Local Community, where they will allegedly demand that construction be stopped, and the main "culprit" for them is the mayor Nedžad Koldžo, writes the Patria news agency.

In a statement to Patria, Koldžo says that he has nothing to be blamed for in this whole story, because, as he says, he neither issued permits nor allocated land to anyone.

- It is neither a green area as claimed in some media, nor did Koldžo give land to anyone, nor did Koldžo sign anything.

The decision on the allocation and takeover of city construction land, on which the residential and commercial building of the company Butmir d.o.o. is to be built, was issued based on the decision of the Municipal Council in October 2001, i.e., 14 years ago. I was not the mayor at that time. After that, both the urban planning and building permits were signed by cantonal ministers of spatial planning, Abid Jusić in 2012, and Zlatko Petrović in 2014.

The urban planning project, for which I am now being blamed, is completely different from the original one, and it took into account all the citizens' remarks made during the public discussion. Thus, instead of the building having 5 plus 3 floors, it was reduced to a maximum of three floors. Everything that is being imputed to me is completely unfounded, and there is evidence for everything, says Koldžo, not wanting to go deeper "into the background of this entire campaign against him".
