Kojović: Instead of increasing the number of rifle barrels, increase citizens' standard of living

(Patria) - The establishment of the reserve police force of Republika Srpska (RS) justifiably causes concern among citizens, believes Predrag Kojović, president of Our Party.

"If viewed in the context of constant secessionist statements by SNSD president Milorad Dodik and the attitude of the Serbian authorities towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, which cannot be described as well-intentioned, then the suspicion that this reserve force will be used for anti-state purposes is justified," Kojović points out.

He also considers the reason for forming this force to be problematic.

"The reason for forming the reserve police force of one entity cannot be the situation with migrants. The migrant situation is a problem for the entire country and state, not entity bodies, should deal with it. Imagine if the Una-Sana Canton, which has the largest influx of migrants, formed a reserve police force, who would allow that? Therefore, if they in RS really think they will deal with the problem of migrant influx in this way, then it speaks to their unprofessionalism and the spending of budget money on a foregone conclusion. It is difficult to believe that behind the story of forming a reserve force, there is not something much more dangerous," says Kojović.

However, despite this, Kojović believes that there should be no panic.

"Budget funds for this reserve force should be approved next year. The total force should number 1000 people, and its formation should proceed gradually. We have time to influence this process to be stopped. State authorities, progressive political forces, the international community, all of us must influence by all means that this reserve force is not formed. I believe that this also disturbs a good portion of citizens in RS. No one wants an increase in the number of rifle barrels, but rather an improvement in the standard of living of citizens," adds Kojović.
