NEW GATHERING AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF BIH Young people and citizens start at 12:00

(Patria) - Informal citizen groups "Hoćel' ta promjena" and "Za bolje sutra" have invited citizens of Sarajevo to a Plenum that will be held today at 12:00 in front of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The invitation was issued via social media.

"We invite citizens to gather in front of the National Museum at 12:00 for a Citizens' Plenum where discussions will be held, proposals made, and information provided on the further course of the protests," they stated.

This will be the sixth gathering of citizens in Sarajevo following the tragic tram accident in which 23-year-old Erdoan Morankić died, while 17-year-old Ella Jovanović was seriously injured, which occurred on February 12.

Given that the invitation refers to a plenum, it all resembles 2014, when protests by citizens dissatisfied with the political and social situation in the country were recorded, and plenums were held in many BiH cities at that time.

The Student Parliament of the University of Sarajevo (SPUS) issued a statement yesterday, stating that they are not the organizers of the protests but that they support them.

The protest participants are mostly university and high school students, but they are joined by numerous citizens demanding an effective investigation into the tram accident, the release of the video footage from the driver's cabin, safe public transport, and functional trams being put into service.

The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, submitted his resignation on Sunday, and a session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly is expected to be scheduled soon to vote on the resignation.
