Coalition for Mostar will support the candidate for mayor from the bloc that wins the most councilors

(Patria) - Future councilors of the Coalition for Mostar are ready to support the candidate for mayor from the Bosniak-Herzegovinian bloc that wins the most councilors, it was announced tonight from the Coalition for Mostar - SDA-BPS-BH Zeleni.

"In order to inform the public accurately, transparently, and truthfully, we have the duty and obligation to remind the public and citizens of a few important facts.

The Coalition for Mostar and all its candidates have conducted an extremely positive campaign in the past 25 days, where they presented their ideas, as well as the Coalition's program platform, without engaging with others.

Our candidate for mayor, Prof. Dr. Đani Rahimić, is at the head of the city list, a candidate like the one we need at this moment.

He is an accomplished man, a university professor, a doctor of technical sciences, a social activist who turned Fortica into a tourist attraction, and we believe he is the right solution for Mostar.

We are convinced that our fellow citizens will recognize quality and give their support to the candidates of the Coalition, as well as Prof. Dr. Đani Rahimić. However, if that is not the case, we will respect the will of the citizens.

A few months ago, we made a concrete proposal to other Bosniak-Herzegovinian coalitions and parties, which we will repeat:

Future councilors of the Coalition for Mostar are ready to support the candidate for mayor from the Bosniak-Herzegovinian bloc that wins the most councilors. We invite the Coalition 'My City' and the Trojka to state whether they are ready to do the same!

Given that there has been speculation in the public about the method of electing the mayor, it is time to stop all manipulations - the mayor is elected by the City Council from among its members.

Therefore, the Council cannot elect a mayor who is not a councilor in the City Council, so all candidates will have to sign a Declaration of Acceptance of the Mandate in the Council.

If certain candidates are so convinced of citizens' support, we are sure they will have no problem accepting our proposal, which we made public several months ago, when signing the coalition agreement. The public and citizens of Mostar deserve answers to these questions," the statement added.
