Coalition First March: Security situation compromised, returnees in fear

After the violence and attacks in Vrbanjci, Vlasenica and Prijedor, this week was marked by new incidents in Prijedor and Bratunac. The "Napoli" tavern in Bratunac, which was also the subject of a criminal investigation in 2013 for playing songs that incite violence and spread hate speech, was again a gathering place for hardliners, while in Prijedor a wedding party was attacked for displaying the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the coalition "First March" stated.

- The coalition "First March" calls on state institutions to take over investigations into incidents containing elements of hate crimes, bearing in mind that the failure to take adequate action by the competent entity services, and the lack of support from the Ministry of Interior to local police stations, results in jeopardizing the return, undermining Annex 7, and spreading fear and a sense of insecurity among citizens of non-Serb ethnicity in the territory of the RS entity - the statement said.
