Coalition Domovina: Unfortunately, returnees are far from the internet, but now they will have greater rights

The Draft Law on Public Order and Peace in the RS has been adopted, and many are surprised by the fact that delegates of the Coalition Domovina voted for the law, reports the Patria news agency.

However, from the explanation provided by Patria, it is clear why the delegates of Domovina voted for the Law, because returnees in the smaller BH entity have their basic human rights threatened, which will now be guaranteed through amendments submitted by Domovina MPs.

As explained to us, an amendment was adopted to shift the time when making noise in public places is allowed.

MPs feared that this would also ban the call to prayer (adhan), and they negotiated through an amendment that it would be limited to a time period that does not jeopardize the calls to prayer.

Also, an amendment was adopted exempting religious communities from restrictions on collecting charitable contributions, because Bosniaks in congregations constantly collect certain funds.

And the last and perhaps most significant amendment is that insulting on religious, racial, and national grounds is strictly prohibited.

- Unfortunately, returnees are far from the internet and from what many complain about regarding this law, which is better than the old one. Our goal was to protect human rights that are denied to returnees - they told us from the Coalition Domovina.
