Who is playing with our children: After poisoning in kindergartens, lice have appeared!

At the end of last week, at the kindergarten in Skenderija, which operates as part of the Public Institution Djeca Sarajevo, hygienists noticed lice on children, and parents were warned, writes the news agency Patria.

Worried about the health of their children, some parents immediately stopped bringing their children to the kindergarten, and one mother told Patria that parents are also undergoing treatment to protect themselves from these pests.

- I am the mother of a three-year-old girl whom we had to wash. I am horrified by the fact that my child got lice, even though I take such good care of hygiene – says this mother.

On Friday, a journalist from the news agency Patria tried to contact the Public Institution Djeca Sarajevo, where a woman on the other end of the phone line said she knew nothing about it and that the director was absent.

Although we duly left a mobile phone number with a request for the director to call back, this has not happened to this day.

- I don't know anything about it, and when the director returns, I will pass on the message - said our interlocutor from the Public Institution Djeca Sarajevo.

Incidentally, the acting director of the Public Institution Djeca Sarajevo is Jasmina Čongo, who came to this position after Mirjana Jovanović-Halilović resigned due to the salmonella poisoning affair involving children.

Lice are true parasites, belonging to the group of small blood-sucking insects. All parasites seek a host on which to live (and eat), giving nothing in return except problems.

Lice are two to three and a half millimeters long, usually grayish-yellowish, although they can take on the color of the hair in which they live. They move about ten centimeters per minute, and faster when hungry. If they get into the hair, it is practically impossible to get rid of them without appropriate medication.
