SDP Sarajevo and partners to analyze the work of all officials within the Canton Sarajevo Government and institutions, personnel changes announced

(Patria) - The Presidency of the Cantonal Committee of SDP Sarajevo, headed by Adnan Šteta, held an expanded session attended by, in addition to Presidency members, ministers and representatives of the Sarajevo SDP from all levels of government, the mayor, and municipal mayors.

As announced, the session analyzed the current political situation and solutions for some of the pressing problems in the Sarajevo Canton, and the achieved results of the Sarajevo SDP in the canton were also analyzed.

The Presidency of the Cantonal Committee of SDP BiH Sarajevo is satisfied with the results achieved in the elections.

"In the coming period, a detailed analysis and even more intensive work will follow in municipal councils and mayoral positions in Stari Grad and Novo Sarajevo. The number of councilors at the level of the entire canton increased by 75%.
After analyzing the results, the political situation and all necessary steps that need to be taken to keep the Sarajevo Canton on its development path were discussed in detail," it was announced.

The Presidency of SDP BiH Sarajevo will request from partners in the Government of the Sarajevo Canton an urgent joint analysis of the work of all appointed officials, both within the Government itself and other appointed persons in institutions, and the taking of adequate measures to improve work, including necessary personnel reinforcements.

Among other things, the Sarajevo SDP sends a request to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the dismissal of Faruk Kapidžić from the Commission for the Protection of National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"The Presidency of SDP BiH Sarajevo has tasked elected and appointed officials at all levels of government to urgently raise the issue of amendments to the Law on the Allocation of Public Revenues, all in the direction of a fairer and more equitable distribution of the same, taking into account that the Sarajevo Canton will be deprived of over 350 million KM in the period 2023-2025 due to earlier amendments to the said law.

The Presidency of the Cantonal Committee of SDP Sarajevo sends an initiative to the City Council of the City of Sarajevo and the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton to, each within their own competencies, undertake necessary activities towards the competent authorities in order to create conditions to enable, through amendments to positive regulations (Election Law, Constitution of the Federation of BiH, Constitution of the Sarajevo Canton, Statute), the direct election of the mayor of the City of Sarajevo.

The Presidency of the Cantonal Committee of SDP BiH Sarajevo calls on the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of the Sarajevo Canton to urgently respond to the initiative for the adoption of the Law on the Legalization of Illegally Constructed Buildings, which was submitted over a year ago. The problem of legalization of buildings is pressing for a large number of citizens and significantly affects their daily lives. Given that no response has been received from the relevant ministry to date, we insist that this initiative be included on the agenda and that the process of adopting the Law be accelerated to resolve this important issue.

We call on the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of the Sarajevo Canton to delegate the proposal for the formation of a municipal police force to the agenda of the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton as soon as possible. Given the compromised cleanliness of the city and the importance of regulating municipal order, we believe it is essential that this proposal be put to a vote to ensure better management of communal services and maintenance of cleanliness," it was announced.
