Who is in the race: Ten Bosniaks, four Croats, and two Serb candidates!

Ten candidates will compete for the position of Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH, of which six are party candidates and four are independent candidates. There will be only two candidates for the position of member of the Presidency from the Serb people, and Croats will choose between four candidates, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The deadline for candidate applications for the Central Election Commission expires today at the end of working hours, but the candidates for the highest state positions are, for the most part, known.

The fiercest competition will be for the Bosniak member of the Presidency, where the biggest favorites are Dr. Mustafa Cerić (independent candidate), Bakir Izetbegović (SDA), and Fahrudin Radončić (SBB).

Newcomers to the political scene, Bakir Hadžiomerović (SDP) and Emir Suljagić (DF), will seek their chance, while the BPS candidate, General Sefer Halilović, is running for the second time. Mirsad Kebo, an independent candidate, also has slim chances, while the outsiders are independent candidates Halil Tuzlić and Adil Žigić. Today, the Diaspora Party announced its candidacy, nominating Džebril Bajramović.

The competition for the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH is not numerous, but it is also fierce. The political bloc in RS is divided into government and opposition. Also, the candidate of the ruling coalition will be Željka Cvijanović, the current Prime Minister of RS, and, although not officially confirmed yet, Mladen Ivanić, representing the opposition Alliance for Change.

When it comes to the position of the Croat member of the Presidency, Dragan Čović, president of HDZ BiH, Martin Raguž, president of HDZ 1990, Živko Budimir, leader of SPP, and Zora Terzić-Šeremet, representing the Democratic Front, have applied, reports NAP.

Of the current members of the Presidency of BiH, only Izetbegović sought re-election, and among all other candidates, only Čović was previously in the Presidency of BiH, from where he was removed by the High Representative because an indictment was filed and confirmed against him.
